FIrst off, I'd like to say that this is a temporary thread. I am doing a little experimenting right now. This BOX, as I put it, is a suggestion box. THings, ideas that you might have that you would like for this site. As long as things stay peaceful... I think this could be a fun thread... let our imaginations soar. SOmeone could post an idea.... then the rest of us could comment on if they think it would be fun... if they disagree they still must be nice when posting. I think you all are pretty good guys that you would be anyway... still, we don't know what the future members might be like. So this rule is in place. The ONLY rule in fact. BE NICE.  Now I will keep an open mind.... if there is something you guys want me to undo.... say it's slowing down loading pages here to your computer... YES... Please let me know. I don't think there is anything here, that I would do that can not be undone. (actually I have another website that I am the only member of where I do my experimentation before I do anything here.... just to be on the safe side.) Then there are things of course that I would LOVE to do, but since I'm not a wizard at technology, I can't seem to figure out how to... For instance, making thread banners. I can on some small scale... but nothing like animation. I was trying to do that a while back when things in my personal life went downhill. Right now, it looks like I might can try to learn that again. No promises.. YES... that is right.. NO promises... but I will try none the less. I already do have a request from one member to install a new thread banner but it needs to be resized from what was submitted. It's going to make it look very tiny so it is still on my to do list if that person is still interested. How about any suggestions on new background themes? I had often thought of some of the skins you guys choose to use... if any are not used I can put them away for safe keeping. Always easy to retrieve if someone wants to use one again. Still, what about fun ideas that you all like... some people are very much into the DA... I don't have a skin for those people to choose. Some are into Fred and George... That is not something I thought about until right now. I think you all get what I'm saying... what can you all come up with that you think many HP fans or you might like to see. Honestly, from time to time I change my skin because I get tired of seeing the same thing all of the time.. but that does not mean I don't go back to my favorite more than the others. Hey.... let me know what you suggest.  Anyway.... lets see how this thread goes. If all goes well, then I'll keep it up... if it has tumbleweeds... or fire. I'll make it dissapperate. Still, we can have fun here.... |

Duddahs would like a day of the week specially put aside for him to run around the Castle and the grounds and the Lounge in his sparkliest electric blue Speedo!
Needs to find out if House Elves can wear Speedo's too?

well I have a suggestion!!
I know some of us have seen live action plays in theaters or have gone to a dinner show, and I would LOVE to put up that kind of thread. I'd put it in the MUGGLES HOLIDAY section, but I don't know where. we have Movies, televeision, and game threads, but those don't quite match up with live action theater. My title would be--"Live Theater--Broadway/off Broadway shows you've seen" Or something like that.
Perhaps if the admin could open a forum titled "Live Action Entertainment" and under that say "discuss live theater shows you've seen"
This way, we can start threads devoted to one particular play.

Good idea. Usually duddah will post something on the Head table thread since that is the catch all for non harry potter stuff or so. Or it will be something tied in to NZ's thread to add to the count. He's seen pleanty of plays with the HP cast members in it and used that to boost NZ's numbers even more. It would take you a lot of backreading just to find those conversations. No problem... sounds good.  |

thanks misscharlotte!! Ok your title was much better than mine. THE PLAY'S THE THING is perfect. so far I've started two threads devoted to two plays I've seen. was that ok?
I know others will probably start new threads as well...i look fwd to seeing those. perhaps we could have a thread in there where it's generalized...talking about this play or that play....I dunno.
thanks!!! Now I have more of a reason to come here-- I do love plays. I hope to get to New York City/Broadway someday-- that's on my list.
PS did u ever give duddahs the key to the Castle yet? ;D

Oh I LOVE plays. I know I was about 11 years old the last time I went to one and it was put on by our school. I was so mesmerized. Since then I had been trying to do a part on stage performances but behind the scenes. I helped with costumes and makeup behind a few dance recitals. I guess the closest thing to a play.. my favorite christmas gift ever... I have been to see the Arkansas State ballet group do The Nutcracker a couple of times. It was so cool. As for the keys to the castle... Nope... I have him locked in the dungeons stirring his pot of doom. No.... he has had the keys to this site since before I opened it up to the rest of our friends. Honestly... Since I know he's been to many plays, I think he'll love this addition that you requested. I can't wait to see him light up when talking about the people and events he's experienced. and youre welcome  |

I've seen it several times but the most memorable was my first time because I was only in third grade. They took us for a field trip, I think it was to Boston but not sure. But I had never seen a ballet on stage before and was absolutely entranced by it, I especially remember the sugar plum fairy who I thought was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. I remember they sat us near the front and you could see everything really clearly. |

I'm still learing about all of the things I can do with this site. So much to learn. So much to have fun with. My main goal here is to help make all of our members happy while you are here. I created this thread in hopes that if any of you have any suggestions to be added to this site or put back the way it was before... that this will be the place where you can post them. Not many requests.... so I'm just having to wing it. ;D Although, I do have several things on my own list that I'll get around to someday. And fangsfan.... thank you for your kind words. from time to time I'll change the message up top in the news box. I hope everyone can keep an eye on it to keep informed of updates for our Lovegood Lounge. |

Grandpa, just a question.
Is there any way to get the most recent posts at the top of the list and or not having to click on the last number to get the most recent posts in any particular thread?
I do understand that it makes it easier to back-read when one starts from the bottom up but then again, Duddahs finds that he has to go to the bottom anyway and then work backward to back-read, so it might just be easier to do it top down...
Just a thought.

Eeek! I set it up this way on purpose. See, I litterally pulled my hair out once over at the WB trying to post page numbers on my Quibbler thread to all of the theories before book seven came out. Then those page numbers were all messed up after we added on more pages of comments. They didn't match, even when I put in links to those posts. SO on here... say there are 50 pages on the House elf cookbook thread. I know that I want to try out one of your recipies on page 23. The more pages we make if the threads are posted from newest to oldest, it would no longer be page 23.. ;D I hope that made sense. The way things are set up over at the WB are so backwards. Books open to page one.... You know that is weird, I guess that is how I have always viewed a thread... more like it was a book. LOL!  BUT... I"m not opposed to changing this here if others are finding it difficult to read threads here like you are. Actually, I once heard lurkers comment how they thought our site was difficult to navigate. They could not understand it. What I want most is to make this site easier to use. I know the way you are suggesting MIGHT also have another benefit.. If this works, we might.. .not sure though, but we might then be able to click on the thread title instead of the most recent page number for that thread. That is a plus to me. I guess, since I like reading from the top of the page down to the most recent post.. like it was a book... It's not really going to be too hard to go back to the WB way of having to scroll down to find my last post, then read up the page... I'm use to it already, even if it's not something that makes sense, but however an easy transition to make. Lets put it to the vote. Majority rules. I'll even put it in the news fader up top of this site so others will see. HOPEFULLY! ps.... I'll have to also go see if I have that option. I think I do. It might be something I have to click when setting up the site but can't change. Still, I'll let you all know.. Wish me luck!  ==== edited to add that I'm still looking for the place to click..
